Making a splash with Jo Brand

This Thursday night, Jo Brand's new 5-part series starts on UKTV's Dave, and doodledo MOTION provided all the animated graphics for the show.

'Jo Brand's Big Splash' is a mixture of stand-up and short documentary features on Jo's experience with various water-based activities.

We went down to the recording of the stand-up gig at the Hackney Empire earlier this year, so there's a chance that some eagle-eyed viewers may spot James and Gareth in the audience! From what we've already seen, it's a really funny show, and Jo really does throw hereself into the challenges set her, roping in comedy pals such as Sean Lock and Bill Bailey.

You can see 'Jo Brand's Big Splash' on Dave at 9pm on Thursday, repeated at 8pm on Sunday, and then for the next 5 weeks.

Filming Krispy Kreme's latest store opening

A few weeks ago, dM were commissioned by MC2 to film the opening of Krispy Kreme's new Hotlight store in Leeds, and to produce a highlights package for use internally, and also a version for the web.

On the evening before the official opening, there was a VIP reception with invited guests and we were there to capture the fun, and then we were back at 5.30am the next morning to witness the queue that had been camped out all night with the intention of winning free dougnuts and prizes!

At 7am, the doors officially opened and people we let into the store to sample free hot original-glazed dougnuts, and to also choose from the massive collection of Krispy Kreme doghnuts and toppings.

You can see the video we produced here on Youtube.

We gave them much more information than actually ended up in the final piece, but you can read what was written about us at the end of this article on the Manchester Evening News website.

Jo Brand makes a big splash at the Hackney Empire

doodledoMOTION are currently working on titles and graphics for 'Jo Brand's Big Splash' - a documentary and stand-up mash-up for UKTV's Dave channel.

Last week, James and Gareth headed down to London to be at the recording of the stand up part of the programme at the Hackney Empire, and had reserved seats on the front row of the circle, so there's a good chance of them appearing in the audience reaction shots in the show!

Featuring all-new material, Jo's set was based around the documentary part, which takes a look at loads of different aspects of water, from diving to white-water rafting, and from bits of the show we've had a sneak peak of, it looks really funny!

The 5-part series will be going out on Dave sometime this autumn - we'll post details of broadcast nearer the time!
